When you’re looking into plumbing issues in your home, it can be difficult to know when to seek repair work. After all, most of your plumbing is hidden from view, deep in the walls of your home or tucked out of the way on the outer walls of the building. But thankfully, there are still signs you can look out for to know when you may need to start seeking out plumbing repair.

When to Know You Need Plumbing Repair

  • The first thing to look out for is if you’ve gone too long without a routine check-up. Plumbing, like any other household system, needs occasional yet regular maintenance to ensure it’s working properly. If you haven’t scheduled an appointment for a while, the odds that your problem will require repair go up.
  • As for signs, one of the most common signs is a leaky faucet or pipe. If you have a sink drip-drip-dripping all throughout the night, you’re likely looking at a problem that needs plumbing repair.
  • Similarly strange sounds and smells can be another sign. If you’re hearing strange gurgling or draining sounds from a drain, or your garbage disposal or toilets are giving off a bad smell when you turn on or flush them, your plumbing has developed a problem.

This list, although it compiles some of the most common things to look out for, is not exhaustive. When in doubt, contact us about the problem you are experiencing, and we can help you decide if plumbing repair is the next step for you.
